Abraham created history in his opening season by scoring the most from an Englishman in a single Serie A campaign with 17 strikes.

Prior to his departure, Abraham had found the back of the net 30 times for the Blues and was the club's top scorer in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons.

And according to , Chelsea have retained interest in the England international after reluctantly parting ways with the player.

Napoli's Victor Osimhen is a target for Chelsea, but talkSPORT understands that the Serie A leaders would demand more than £100m.

Abraham would thus be a cheaper alternative to the Nigerian marksman, although the report adds that Chelsea inserted a £70.8million buy back option in the ex-Aston Villa loan star's contract when he joined the Giallorossi.

And the fact that Abraham retains his status as a homegrown player makes him an appealing option for Chelsea.

Red Devils scouts have been in attendance at Roma matches this term to watch him in action.

However, Chelsea have first refusal over Abraham, with Roma obliged to inform them if a potential suitor matches his buy-back clause.
