Manchester United plotting sensational £50m swoop on Southampton

Manchester United are lining up a sensational £50million double swoop on Southampton for their star duo Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw.

After a poor first season at the helm, United boss David Moyes will look to significantly reshape his squad this summer and the Saints pair are high on his shopping list.

Chelsea are also keen on Shaw, a lifelong Blues fan, but talkSPORT understands United have moved into pole position to secure the 18-year-old full-back's signature.

And midfielder Lallana could be on his way to Old Trafford along with Shaw as part of a massive deal.

The Saints skipper has impressed for club and country this season, scoring nine goals in the Premier League and making his England debut against Chile last November, and has emerged as a top target for United.

Moyes will look to conclude as much business as possible before the start of the World Cup, with reports of a deal in place for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho.
