While sticking the ball in the back of the net may not be McTominay's biggest strength, it has reminded fans of what he could bring in Casemiro's absence.
The Brazilian was handed a four-match suspension following his sending off against Southampton earlier this month, a huge blow for Erik ten Hag's side.
Casemiro will miss the upcoming Premier League matches against Newcastle, Brentford and Everton as United push for a top-four finish.
However with McTominay flying high in terms of confidence, fans are hoping that he may just be able to ease the burden of United being without arguably their most important player.
