Timo Werner shows Chelsea what they’re missing and now has significantly more goals than any Blues player

Timo Werner has shown Chelsea what they’re missing yet again with an absolutely outrageous goal for Leipzig.
The German forward bagged his second of the afternoon in stunning fashion with a long-range strike, while he also assisted the other goal in a 3-2 win over Augsburg.
Werner suffered the same fate as numerous striker signings at Stamford Bridge, struggling for confidence and goalscoring form before an early departure.
Signed in 2020 for £50million after lighting up the Bundesliga, Werner was gone two seasons later with only 23 goals and plenty of embarrassing memes to his name.
Now back in Leipzig, Werner has 14 goals for the season, with his latest effort one to remember.
Collecting a hopeful ball forward from Kevin Kampl, Werner’s first touch set the ball up for a volley, which he beautifully struck into the back of the net under pressure, just outside of the box.
The wonder strike gave Werner five more goals this season than Chelsea’s top scorer, Kai Havertz, who has just nine in all competitions.
Meanwhile, the Blues were toothless in attack once again as they lost 2-1 at home to Brighton.
Conor Gallagher's deflected opener flattered Frank Lampard's side and they were lucky not to lose by more.
Brighton dominated the Blues and the visitors had 24 shots compared to the hosts' eight.
