Chelsea can still be relegated from the Premier League and here’s what needs to happen in remaining fixtures ahead of Bournemouth clash

Chelsea's 2022/23 Premier League campaign has been the club's worst in nearly 30 years and the pain isn't over yet.
The Blues are currently 12th in the table and are falling ever closer to the drop zone as the season approaches its conclusion.
But can the London giants actually be relegated from the top-flight of English football for the first time since the 1980s?
Incredibly, despite spending more than £600million on new players since last summer, Chelsea can still mathematically be relegated from the Premier League.
They currently have just 39 points and are nine above the drop zone, losing five of their last six in the league and have scored two goals in that time.
Chelsea are one of the Premier League's lowest goalscorers with just 31 goals, making this their worst goalscoring season since top-flight records began.
And it's the lack of goals that has left them in a perilous position.
To be all but safe, Chelsea need three points as their slightly superior goal difference would keep them in the top-flight.
The scenario likely keeping the Stamford Bride faithful up is Chelsea fail to win their remaining games and Forest, Leicester and Leeds collect at least ten points from theirs.
Leeds play Man City on Saturday, while Leicester play Fulham and Forest host Southampton on Monday.
Bournemouth, who Chelsea play on Saturday, Wolves and West Ham also need the wins to leapfrog Frank Lampard's side.
Four points would ensure that even if all the teams locked on 30 points win their games, they wouldn't be able to catch Chelsea.
In reality, given the gap to the drop zone, Lampard’s men should only need a singular draw to keep themselves up.
But, on paper, Chelsea's run-in is extremely tough as they face both Manchester clubs and Newcastle.
Previously, 39 points has been enough for Premier League survival in all but four seasons since the league was reduced from 22 to 20 teams. The last side to go down with 39 points was Birmingham in 2011, so the Blues shouldn't be relegated, barring something spectacular.
However, it is still possible, while Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Wolves and West Ham will all be looking to finish above Chelsea this term.
No matter what happens from here, this has been an awful season for the London giants, and the worst finish since 1988 is on the cards.
Bournemouth (A) - May 6
Nottingham Forest (H) - May 13
Manchester City (A) - May 21
Manchester United (A) - May 25
Newcastle (H) - May 28
