‘I’m very confident’ – Fulham director of football Tony Khan expects boss Marco Silva to stay amid West Ham links

Fulham chief Tony Khan is confident of keeping Marco Silva at Craven Cottage despite interest from elsewhere.
The former Watford and Everton boss is attracting substantial interest thanks to the stellar job that he's done in west London.
After cruising to promotion from the Championship last term, Fulham have defied all expectations in the Premier League by avoiding relegation and pushing themselves into the top half of the table.
Reports have suggested that in Silva as a result of his achievements, but according to the club's director of football Khan, the 45-year-old is unlikely to be going anywhere this summer.
Asked how hopeful he is of retaining Silva's services, Khan told talkSPORT: "I'm very confident. I think Marco has a great relationship with everyone at the club, and especially with me.
"I have a great relationship with Marco. I really like working with
him and I think it's been a great success.
"We've had a couple of great seasons working together, I look forward to the future and I think in the summer we have a chance to build
on the work that's been done.
"I think he's done such an amazing job coaching this squad, we have great, great players. We've had a couple of injuries recently with Tim Ream and Andreas Pereira.
"We'll look to come in the summer and hopefully get those players back as soon as possible and in the summer look to do what we can to further strengthen a great squad and get healthy and look forward to a great season next year, too, I hope.
"But I really look forward to working with Marco hopefully for a very long time."
Khan added: "I think Marco is doing a great job, and absolutely he deserves a ton of the credit for what's happening at Fulham.
"I think the squad and the coaching and the board all really like working together and I certainly personally really enjoy working with Marco, and I have so much respect for him.
"It's definitely been the best experience I've had working in English football or working alongside Marco.
"He has brought so much the squad and to see how far we've come in the last couple of years, it's just amazing to look back at it and I'm very excited for the future too.
"It's going to be a big summer for us and I'm looking forward to sitting down with Marco, keep working on great targets and hopefully keeping all of our great players and doing what we can to make next season hopefully even better for Fulham."
Asked if there will be funds available this summer, Khan said: "We'll do everything we can to to build on the squad and make sure we have
another great season in the Premier League next year."
Tony Khan spoke to talkSPORT ahead of AEW's massive show at Wembley Stadium this coming August bank holiday. 60,000 tickets have already been sold, and the remaining tickets are available now.
