David Seaman tells talkSPORT: ‘I would be delighted if Arsene Wenger signed another Arsenal contract’

David Seaman says he would be ‘delighted’ to see Arsene Wenger sign a new Arsenal contract.
Wenger celebrated 20 years as Gunners boss earlier this month but his future beyond this season is unclear, with his current deal due to expire in 2017.
Many Arsenal fans are eager to see the Frenchman step aside given the fact the club have failed to win the Premier League since 2004.
But Seaman, who won two titles under Wenger in 1997-98 and 2001-02, is eager for the 66-year-old to stay on at the Emirates.
He told Jim White on talkSPORT: “For me, he is a great manager and if he signed another contract I would be delighted.
“I have worked with him, I know how good he is.”
With Wenger’s Arsenal future uncertain, he has recently been linked with the England manager’s position.
But Seaman doesn't believe it is a job - currently Gareth Southgate’s on an interim basis - that would appeal to the Frenchman.
"I wouldn’t think he would take it," added the legendary goalkeeper, who made 564 appearances for Arsenal and won 75 caps for England.
"Once he is done with Arsenal, I think that might be it. He might take a step back into a director of football role.
"I just think the England job might be too much for him. I have seen Arsene from when he first came to Arsenal to where is now and when you watch him on the bench, he is more animated, he loses his temper and throws water bottles, and I think that is not the Arsene Wenger I know."
