He has since made 447 appearances for the club across all competitions, keeping a total of 151 clean sheets.

Lloris still has one year left on his deal in north London, but has revealed he is setting his sights on a different challenge.

"It's the end of an era. I have desires for other things, I will ask myself quietly to study what will be possible.

"But I don't forget that I still have a year of contract with Tottenham and that in football it is always difficult to predict what will happen.

"What is essential at the moment is to recover well from my injury. I'm on vacation but I continue to talk and do my training. My goal is to be on top in July, then we'll see what the future holds for me."

Ahead of the summer transfer window, Lloris has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia that could see his £100,000-a-week earnings treble.

Reports in recent months have suggested that Spurs will be formulating a succession plan for the 36-year-old.

Potential options for his replacement may include fellow Premier League stars Jordan Pickford and David Raya.

Previous reports have also said that Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak is of interest to Spurs.

With his latest admission it looks as though Lloris has played his final game for the club, the 6-1 defeat against Newcastle that saw him substituted off at half-time due to injury.
