Premier League triumph in 2012 can inspire Man City, says Zabaleta

Pablo Zabaleta wants Manchester City to use their 2012 Premier League triumph to inspire them to glory this season.

The title race is in Manuel Pellegrini’s side’s hand after they beat Crystal Palace 2-0 following Liverpool’s defeat to Chelsea.

And the Argentine defender believes they can use the memory of thier success two years ago, when Sergio Aguero’s strike in stoppage time of their final game of the season won them the championship, to keep them fighting until the very end of the campaign.

"We know that we've been in this situation two years ago and I think we have been talking about that last week," said Zabaleta

"The most important thing we've learned from that experience was the team spirit to keep fighting until the end.

"Whoever ends as the champions, it is because they will deserve it, and we are one of those teams who will fight for it.

"Hopefully we can continue to win the games and show one more time that these players, this team, this manager, all the staff, are still working really hard and are still very hungry for the title."
