Tottenham transfer rumours: Players to join De Boer at the Lane

Tottenham have continued to be linked with a new manager and the most recent is Ajax boss Frank de Boer.
The former Dutch international has just guided his side to their fourth successive league title and claimed he was open to discussions on his future. Many quality players have played under De Boer, while the Netherlands are blessed with class throughout their team, so could a man who has been capped 112 times, convince any of them to move to White Hart Lane if he does go?
Joel Veltman
Club: Ajax
Position: Centre-back
“I will fight to keep Veltman,” Marc Overmars, Ajax's director of football said. Veltman has blossomed under the tutelage of former Man United and Netherlands stopper Jaap Stam. Veltman is a sensation. We never expected him to make such an amazing breakthrough at top level. But that’s down to the work of Jaap Stam,” Overmars added when discussing the player in February amid interest from Arsenal and Man United. The 22-year-old centre-back has played once for the Netherlands senior side.
Davy Klaassen
Club: Ajax
Position: Forward
Klaassen has been an Ajax player since the age of 11 and recently claimed he did not want to see De Boer leave. He has been capped by the Netherlands and can operate as an attacking midfielder or supporting striker and up top, according to De Boer. The 21-year-old has scored 10 times in 23 games this season.
Toby Alderweireld
Club: Atletico Madrid
Position: Right-back/centre-back
Belgium defender Alderweireld thinks very highly of De Boer having played under him at Ajax until his transfer to Spain last summer. The 25-year-old, who can play on the right and in the centre of defence, has admitted to being unhappy at Atletico due to a lack of playing time.
Daly Blind
Club: Ajax
Position: Left-back/holding midfielder
De Boer has converted 24-year-old Blind into a holding midfielder this term and has played there for the Netherlands, too. However, given Spurs' weakness is at left-back, Blind's ability in the role could prove invaluable.
Tim Krul
Club: Newcastle
Position: Goalkeeper
There is a shout for Maarten Stekelenburg, who knows De Boer from his time at Ajax where they spent a season together before joining Roma. However, the 31-year-old has not enjoyed his first season in the Premier League and was recently dropped in favour of David Stockdale at the relegation battlers. Tim Krul has been lauded for his displays in the Newcastle goal and the 26-year-old Dutchman could be one of a number of players to exit St James' Park in the summer. If current Spurs goalie Hugo Lloris leaves as expected, then Krul is a decent replacement.
