Tottenham manager update! Pochettino, not De Boer, in line for Spurs job

talkSPORT's Dutch football expert Thijs Slegers claims Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino is now in pole position to take over at Tottenham this summer.

The north London club had targeted Ajax chief Frank de Boer, who admitted he would be interested in a switch to the Premier League.

But now it appears chairman Daniel Levy has turned his attention away from the 43-year-old, following his public comments about an approach from Spurs.

"Frank de Boer has openly said Tottenham called Ajax to ask if he is available," he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show. "We understand Daniel Levy was not very happy that De Boer was so honest.

"It’s caused a lot of problems at the time with Tim Sherwood, he was not very happy with what Spurs did.

"They will now go for Mauricio Pochettino and we understand that De Boer is not first in line anymore."
