Man City face battle to sign Spanish wonderkid

Manchester City are among five European giants in pursuit of Real Mallorca wonderkid Marco Asensio.

talkSPORT initially revealed City's interest back in March, when Real Madrid were leading the race to land him, but it now appears that the Premier League table-toppers will face increased competition to sign the playmaker.

Sources in Spain claim that Barcelona, Valencia and Roma are also among his suitors.

The 18-year-old currently has a £3.3m release clause fee in his contract, although that figure is expected to rise to £7.4m next year.
