Newcastle made it two wins from two in pre-season thanks to a 2-1 victory over Rangers in Allan McGregor's testimonial. 

The Ibrox faithful said goodbye to the legendary Scottish goalkeeper before, during and after the match as Sandro Tonali made his Newcastle debut.

The midfielder impressed in the first half and was involved in the opener that Miguel Almiron tucked away. The Gers drew level in the second half when Karl Darlow and Bruno Guimaraes made mistakes that Sam Lammers punished.

But Eddie Howe's men got a late winner through Harrison Ashby, who brilliantly guided a header over Jack Butland after good work from Alexander Isak on the left.
