Mikel Arteta admits Arsenal have ‘nothing to announce’ when quizzed on Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber transfer latest

Mikel Arteta admitted Arsenal have ‘nothing to announce yet’ as he was quizzed on their latest transfer news.
The Gunners are set to sign Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber, who will join Kai Havertz at the club.
However, neither have been confirmed by Arsenal yet and there appears to be holdups in both deals.
The north London club have started pre-season without the pair, with their first match ending in a 1-1 draw with Nurnberg in Germany after a Bukayo Saka effort was cancelled out by a Jorginho own goal.
Arteta was asked about the latest with the two new signings and gave an update.
“At the moment we are working with the group of players that is here,” he said.
“We have nothing to announce yet, and when it is done you will be the first to know.”
Havertz made his first appearance in an Arsenal shirt in that 1-1 draw, but fans may have to wait a little while longer to see the others in club colours.
West Ham are understood to have grown frustrated with the delays to the £105million transfer of Rice.
The paperwork is expected to be completed this week, however, with a formal announcement made next week.
The completion of the Timber deal has been delayed by a minor contract issue, but his £45m move from Ajax is also likely to be formally announced soon.
Arsenal want both players to be signed and officially announced in time to fly with the rest of the squad for their pre-season tour of the US.
They will play against the MLS All-Stars next Thursday, before taking on Manchester United on Saturday, July 22.
