Exclusive – Arsenal transfer warning! Lauren tells Wenger he must splash the cash this summer

Lauren has called on Arsene Wenger to splash the cash this summer in a bid to boost Arsenal's title chances next season.

The Gunners started the campaign in superb form and topped the Premier League for a prolonged period of time, before injures and a drop in performance saw them battling it out with Everton for fourth spot.

And Lauren, part of the Invincibles side which went unbeaten in 2003-04, believes the north London side need a few more additions to mount a serious push for both domestic and European glory.

“Arsenal need three or four new players,” he told Drivetime. “I’m not saying the team isn’t good enough, but to be consistent for the whole season we need some reinforcements.

“We have a very good starting XI but to be consistent, and to win the whole year though, they need three or four players.

“The first team are fine but you can’t play the whole season with the same eleven players.

“If Arsene Wenger wants to win the Premier League title and be consistent the whole season in Europe, they need a number of new players.”
