Evra signs new one-year deal at Manchester United

Patrice Evra has signed a new one-year deal at Manchester United.

The French defender's contract was set to expire this summer and it was believed he could join Nemanja Vidic in leaving Old Trafford for Inter Milan.

However, new boss Louis van Gaal has opted to extend the 33-year-old's stay at Old Trafford.

The decision raises doubts over whether United will continue to pursue their move for Southampton and England left-back Luke Shaw.

The 18-year-old was reportedly subject of a £27million bid by the Red Devils earlier this month and he is believed to fancy a move to Old Trafford.
