Exclusive – QPR stars could seek summer exit, admits Green

Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Rob Green admits the club’s loaned stars may not want to return to the club for their forthcoming Premier League season.
Harry Redknapp’s Rangers sealed promotion to the top flight for the second time in four seasons following a 1-0 win over Derby in the play-off final, with Bobby Zamora netting a 90th winner at Wembley.
And while the club’s rise back to England’s top table may seem an exciting prospect for many players, Green believes the Super Hoops’ highest earners may not want to stay at the side as they look to avoid another drop into the Championship.
Adel Taarabt, Loic Remy, Stephane Mbia and Julio Cesar all spent periods of the last season on loan, with Taarabt enjoying a successful stint with AC Milan and Mbia lifting the Europa League with Sevilla.
And with those men unlikely to want to drop straight back into the QPR side next term, Green admits Redknapp may have to find alternatives in the summer transfer window.
“It’s going to be a difficult summer for the club,” the former England stopper told Kick Off.
“We’ve got a lot of players coming back from loans and quite a few for them probably won’t want to be hanging around.
“Some of these guys have gone and played at a higher stage this season, like Adel [Taarabt] in the Champions League and Serie A for AC Milan and Loic Remy, who has proven himself again in the Premier League.
“And those guys might not want to be a part of what could be a tough season for the club where we’ll aim to consolidate our place in the Premier League.
“So it’s going to be for the manager and the club to organise, but one of Harry’s strengths is that he knows players and he recruits well.”
