Exclusive – Le Tissier tells new Tottenham boss Pochettino to forget about Lallana swoop

Matt Le Tissier has told new Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino to forget about signing Southampton star Adam Lallana.
The Argentine was handed the Spurs top job on Tuesday afternoon, following Tim Sherwood’s departure earlier this month.
Southampton are believed to be holding out for a £25million offer for the 26-year-old, after rejecting a £20m bid from Liverpool.
This has alerted the north London club, who believe they can steal a march on their Premier League rivals in the race for the England winger, having secured Pochettino.
But club legend Le Tissier claims Lallana will only move to a club which he considers as a step up.
When asked about Shaw, who has been linked with a switch to Man United, and Lallana, he said: “If those two decide to move on, with the talent they’ve got, they’ll move on to clubs that are already in the Champions League. Not sides that will have to challenge to be there next season.”
When challenged about Shaw’s move to Manchester United, who won’t be in the Champions League next season, he added: “It’s a tricky one.
“Luke Shaw has been linked with Manchester United, who aren’t in the Champions League next season, but, with their history, it won’t be too long before they’re back in that top four.”
