Arsenal fans go wild over Martin Odegaard footage as they say it’s ‘like watching Messi’ in Norway’s win over Georgia

Martin Odegaard has been likened to Lionel Messi with Arsenal fans left purring over his dazzling display for Norway.
The 24-year-old was on target in a 2-1 victory against Georgia to keep the Scandinavian country in third spot in their Euro 2024 qualifying group.
It's been an impressive start to the season for the Gunners skipper, who already has two goals in the opening four Premier League games.
He has now scored his first international goal of the campaign, with his 33rd minute strike proving to be the winner.
In what is becoming a trademark Odegaard goal, he latched onto a cutback inside the box, before drilling a low effort into the bottom corner.
And Arsenal fans were left drooling by his outing on Tuesday night at the Ullevaal Stadion as they took to social media to fawn over the midfielder.
Sharing highlights of the player's best bits from the match, one user posted: "Odegaard vs Georgia. Brilliant performance. Levels above.
"Just like watching Messi toying with the opponents when he knew he was better than everybody else on the pitch. Playful but still extremely hard working."
Replying to the montage, one fan boldly said: "Odegaard is better than Messi."
Another messaged: "Martin Odegaard on the cutback.. he’s reaching that Messi inevitability."
This supporter remarked: "For real he really did play like Messi."
Meanwhile this fan commented: "Bellingham and Odegaard are this generations Messi and Ronaldo."
And one then simply stated: "Looks like I just watched Messi's clip. Damn!"
Prior to the match, Odegaard gave Arsenal fans a huge boost after admitting he wants to stay at the club amid rumoured contract talks.
He told Norwegian outlet Nettavisen: "I don’t have much to say, apart from the fact that I am very happy at Arsenal and I hope I can be there for a long time.
"Beyond that, I have no comment right now. Now, it is the national team that is in focus."
