Crook: Shaw and Lallana won't join Pochettino at Tottenham

talkSPORT's man on the south coast Alex Crook believes new Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will not be able to tempt former stars Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw to leave Southampton.

The Argentine manager left the Saints for Spurs on Tuesday and there are fears his departure could lead to a mass exodus at St Mary's.

Lallana and Shaw have both been strongly linked with moves to Liverpool and Manchester United respectively and that is precisely where Crook reckons they will go.

"Nobody will leaving or coming in until a new manager is appointed. That won’t stop bids being made of course, and you’re correct that with Pochettino’s departure, Southampton are clearly in more of a vulnerable position," he told Kick Off.

"I don’t expect Luke Shaw to go to Tottenham or indeed Adam Lallana. Lallana said he wants to play Champions League football.

"There is interest from Liverpool and I think that would be more likely his destination.

"And my understanding is that Luke Shaw does have his heart set on a move to Manchester United. His parents have been house hunting up in Cheshire."

Despite Crook believing the Saints' two biggest stars won't fancy a move to White Hart Lane, he did tell talkSPORT on Tuesday that the likes of Jay Rodriguez and Nathaniel Clyne could be tempted to link up with their former boss.
