Everton v Arsenal preview

Arsenal will be looking to continue their good start to the season as they take on Everton who appear to be in yet another year of struggle on the pitch.

Mikel Arteta's side started this season by winning the Community Shield at Wembley against Manchester City, and have since gone on to pick up 10 points out of a possible 12 in the Premier League.

A frustrating draw with Fulham has been their only dropping of points this season, which followed wins over Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace to kick off the league campaign.

The Gunners' last game before last weekend's international period was a 3-1 victory over Manchester United, win which leaves them fifth in the table heading into this weekend but are level on points with second place and just two points off the league leaders.

Everton look like they might be in for another year of struggle this season having narrowly avoided relegation in both of the last two campaigns, only surviving last season on the final day back in May this year.

Sean Dyche's men lost their opening three games of the new season without scoring a goal, but managed to pick up their first points of the new campaign in their final match before the international break as they drew 2-2 at Sheffield United.

The point leaves them 18th in the table heading into this weekend, with only newly promoted sides Burnley and Luton below them, both of whom are without a point to their name.

Arsenal have actually lost four of their last six matches against Everton, and have picked up just one point from their last five trips to Goodison Park in the league, without a win since 2017.

The two managers are evenly matched when they've come up against each other in the past, with each picking up two wins each and drawing the other three from their seven previous meetings.

Everton v Arsenal betting tips

Arsenal look to brush off their recent patchy record at Goodison Park and will expect to win quite comfortably on Sunday, and talkSPORT BET have boosted the odds for Arsenal to win 4-1 to 20/1, or the Gunners to win with both teams to score to 85/40.

Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus is expected to be back to full fitness after missing the majority of Arsenal's opening games with injury, and odds have been boosted to 10/1 on him to net a brace, and to 35/1 on Jesus to score first and Arsenal to win 2-0.
