Laura Woods reunites with Ally McCoist in wholesome moment before getting schooled by Rio Ferdinand
Laura Woods couldn’t contain her joy at being reunited with her old pal from talkSPORT Ally McCoist.
The duo paired up on talkSPORT’s Breakfast show for three iconic years before Woods left for her role as TNT Sports’ new anchor.
Luckily for us, McCoist has kept his much-loved spot alongside Alan Brazil, and Woods showed just how adored he is.
McCoist has also joined TNT this season, and the pair were reunited on-pitch at the Etihad Stadium before Manchester City kicked off their Champions League title defence against Red Star Belgrade.
Speaking over footage of the pair having a warm embrace, Woods said: “We haven’t also forgotten Rio Ferdinand, we’ve just subbed him out and we subbed somebody else in.
“Not quite like for like but I would say an improvement in every possible conceivable area, Mr Ally McCoist is here.

“It was a lovely welcome wasn’t it? It’s been too long since we’ve been apart.”
McCoist responded: “It was, Ferdinand never got a welcome like that did he? I’ll tell you that Laura.”
Manchester United legend Ferdinand did later get his revenge though, nutmegging Woods on her debut show.
“Don’t even try to go to a link,” Ferdinand said as he waited for a replay.
