Fans shocked to see Manchester United man Scott McTominay being outpaced by referee after losing ball

Scott McTominay left Manchester United fans stunned after being outpaced by the referee against Bayern Munich.
The Scotland international was part of the side who lost 4-3 to the German giants at the Allianz Arena and didn't cover himself in glory in one particular moment.
With the score at 3-1 to Bayern on 79 minutes, Man United were pushing for a way back into the game when McTominay lost the ball on the edge of the host's penalty area.
Dayot Upamecano picked up the ball and burst forward as Bayern turned defence into attack, with the players and referee all busting a gut to keep up with the central defender.
But while referee, Glenn Nyberg, did his best to keep up with play, McTominay appeared to do little more than a jog as he trotted back into his own half.
The moment was captured by @StretfordPost on X, formerly known as Twitter, with many fans in disbelief at what they had seen.

Another said: "Whoever made the decision to reject that £30m bid [from West Ham] should be sacked."
A third fan said: "It seems that after Ten Hag made it clear he wants to sell him he no longer shows passion for the club and no longer gives it all as he used to. He lost his only endearing quality."
Another supporter said: "That is hilarious and infuriating at the same time.
