Curtis Jones to serve three-match ban after Liverpool fail in appeal to overturn midfielder’s three-game ban

Liverpool have failed in their appeal to overturn Curtis Jones' red card he picked up away at Tottenham on Saturday.
Jones had been booked for a poor, clumsy challenge that saw his boot go over the ball and plant in Spurs midfielder Yves Bissouma’s shin.
Referee Simon Hooper was advised to watch the challenge back and, after reviewing it, upgraded the card to red.
Liverpool subsequently appealed the decision, but the club announced on Tuesday evening that they were unsuccessful.
Jones will now serve a three-game ban, which will see him miss the games against Brighton, Everton and Nottingham Forest.

The challenge, which came in the 26th minute of the Merseyside outfit's 2-1 defeat in north London, has been hotly debated.
Former Spurs player turned talkSPORT host, Jamie O'Hara, said: "It's a shocking challenge. A leg-breaker."
However, Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville took a different view, as he defended Jones.
He remarked: "No, no, no. I know when you're doing someone, I've done it myself, he wasn't there to do someone.
"They're showing the end motion which looks bad.
"But that's not how it's ended up there, his foot just slipped off the ball.
"It's not a red card but he's going to get one and it's going to ruin the game probably."
Jones wasn't the only player that was sent off for Liverpool, with Diogo Jota given his marching orders for two quickfire yellow cards.
