Gabby Agbonlahor admits that Tottenham aren’t ‘Spursy’ anymore as Jamie O’Hara plays down title chat

Gabby Agbonlahor believes that Tottenham finally shaken off their 'Spursy' tag under Ange Postecoglou.
Spurs have enjoyed a glorious start to the season having won six of their opening eight fixtures in the Premier League.
The latest result was a 1-0 win over Luton Town in which the north London side overcame the blow of having Yves Bissouma sent off to grind out a result at Kenilworth Road.
As well as leading Tottenham to top spot in the table, for the time being at least, fans are enthusiastic about the positive, attack-minded approach being taken by ex-Celtic boss Postecoglou.
But even more than that, Agbonlahor believes that the Australian boss has already managed to shake off the club's unwanted reputation.
Speaking on talkSPORT's Gameday Phone-In, Agbonlahor said: "We’ve had the banter for years about ‘Spursy’ but James Maddison has come out and said that they’re going to lose that tag and I really think they will.
“I watch them at the moment and yes, they messed up against Fulham in the Carabao Cup but there’s no reason why this team can’t go and win the FA Cup.
“I think Postecoglou will learn from that what players he can trust, play a stronger side in the FA Cup and why can’t they lose that tag? I really think they will under this manager.
“He uses the right subs at the right time. Look at last season or the season before, we were on here and it was Spurs fans losing their minds and calling in, angry, had enough – ‘Daniel Levy, Daniel Levy’ – you’re not hearing a word about Daniel Levy now.
“He’s just sitting there watching the games thinking ‘Ange was a good choice, we put that Harry Kane money in the old savings account – we don’t have to use that!’”
Jamie O’Hara added: “If we’d played that game last season we’d have been camped in, under relentless pressure and given away a goal in the 85th minute and going ‘we got beat, it’s all Bissouma’s fault, it’s all going wrong, it’s Conte’s fault’.
“Now we’ve got a team where we go down to 10 men and we come out and still try to score goals, still try to attack, get a goal and then Ange Postecoglou knows when to make the right changes at the right times.
“You’re thinking ‘he should probably make a change here’ and he does.
“You see other managers and they wait and wait until something happens but he makes those changes before something happens and that’s what I love about him and I’ve been so positive about him and how he can go, but do I think we can win the league? No.”
