Ex-Tottenham star Mido congratulates Daniel Levy for hiring Ange Postecoglou as Spurs sit top of table

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy deserves credit for the club's record-breaking Premier League start for hiring Ange Postecoglou.
That is the opinion of ex-Spurs striker Mido, who has waxed lyrical over the club's free-flowing attacking football.
The north London outfit sit top of the table having won six and drawn two out of their opening eight matches.
Saturday's 1-0 win over newly-promoted Luton leaves Spurs on 20 points, with it being the club's best-ever start to a Premier League campaign.
Few expected Spurs to even challenge for a top four spot let alone being in an unlikely title race, with eyebrows raised over the appointment of ex-Celtic manager Postecoglou.
But the Australian, who has become a firm fan favourite with the Spurs faithful, has been nothing short of sensational.
He won August's Manager of the Month award, and is in line to win September's gong having been nominated.
Speaking on the Sports Breakfast, former Spurs forward Mido, who scored 19 goals in 61 games between 2005-2007, believes it was a masterclass from Levy to bring in Postecoglou.
He said: "It’s a revolution, if you could say that, at Tottenham.
"The way the team was designed, if you could say that, is unbelievable, especially after losing the big man and captain Harry Kane.
“Everyone expected Spurs to struggle a bit, of course, especially that we haven’t bought the right replacement, of course, in my opinion.
"But I think Tottenham got a great coach, a top, top coach.
“You could see that from the first minute, from the first game, his character, his calmness on the sideline.
“And I think the team took his character, if you could say that. They have the character of the coach. They are calm. They know what they are doing on the pitch.
“They play, of course, attractive, attacking football, but also with balance. They all work their socks off when they lose the ball. They all press and they all work together.
"It shows you, maybe, that some clubs like Tottenham, they don’t need maybe the biggest name when it comes to the head coach, but they need the right man.
“They need the man who knows the environment, who knows that it’s very important to bring in young players into the team.
"Big managers and big names, they don’t work this way. They want players who are ready to play first-team football. They want players who will come in and perform straight away.
“So congratulations to the board, to Daniel Levy, because he has been criticised for many seasons now.
"I think, finally, maybe he knows that Tottenham is a club that maybe doesn’t need a big, big name as a coach, but needs someone to come in, work hard, knows the mentality and the environment of the club, of the supporters as well, the mentality of the supporters.
“I’m really, really, really, really happy for Tottenham.”
