Scotland’s Euro 2024 qualification is CONFIRMED as Norway lose to Spain
Scotland have officially qualified for Euro 2024 as Norway suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Spain.
A scrappy goal by Barcelona star Gavi was all that separated the two sides on a night where Norway needed to win to retain hope of automatically qualifying for next summer's tournament in Germany.
But Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard will have to look for alternative routes to the tournament as Scotland and Spain are an unassailable five points ahead of them in Group A with Norway having just one qualifier left.
It's an expected result for three-time European champions Spain, who enter the tournament as one of its big hitters.
However, this is just the fourth time Scotland have reached a European Championship finals, having previously participated in the 1992, 1996 and 2020 (2021) tournaments.
Scotland captain Andy Robertson said: "Our fans have been immense. We thank them for playing a huge part in our success and we look forward to seeing them in Germany in their tens of thousands."

Steve Clarke's side have been sensational in their qualifying campaign, winning five of their six matches and beating both Spain and Norway in the process.
Their sole defeat, which came earlier this week, so far came in controversial circumstances too.
Any injustice Scotland felt at Scott McTominay's stunning goal against Spain on Thursday being disallowed has now been extinguished to one of celebration among the players, staff and fans.
Scotland round off their campaign with a trip to Georgia on November 16 before entertaining the Norwegians three days later. They also face France in a friendly on Monday night.

After decades of being in the wilderness, Scottish football has entered a new golden age having qualified for two of the last three major tournaments on offer.
Their participation at the delayed European Championship was their first appearance at a major tournament in 23 years.
Clarke's men claimed a creditable draw against rivals England at Wembley Stadium but ultimately finished bottom of their group.
This has been something of a theme for Scotland at major tournaments with Archie Gemmill's stunning solo goal in a victory over the Netherlands arguably their best moment at a finals. The goal paled into some insignificance as Scotland's margin of victory wasn't enough to get them out of their group.
But going by the way this current crop of players go about things, perhaps Germany 2024 will be the tournament where Scotland break new ground.
