Liverpool will bid to continue their charge towards reclaiming the Carabao Cup when they face Bournemouth tonight.

The Reds won a record ninth EFL cup in 2021 but made a miserable defence of their crown last season as rivals Manchester United lifted the trophy.

The defence of their title was ended by Manchester City at this point last season but Jurgen Klopp's men are in much finer shape this time around.

Liverpool are only three points adrift of Premier League leaders Tottenham and boast a perfect record in cup competitions so far.

The Merseysiders will also be buoyed by the fact that they have won 15 of their 20 matches against Bournemouth, only losing twice.

However, the Cherries, who ended their wait for a Premier League win by beating Burnley on Saturday, can take solace from the fact that those two defeats came at the Vitality Stadium.
