Portugal sweat as Ronaldo limps out of training

Portugal are sweating over the fitness of star forward Cristiano Ronaldo again after the Real Madrid man limped out of training.

The World Player of the Year has been struggling recently with tendinitis around his left knee and he had an ice pack attached to the troublesome area when he cut short his session today.

The Portuguese Football Federation admitted last week they worried the 28-year-old might miss their first game against Germany on Monday evening.

But their fears were allayed, albeit briefly, when Ronaldo returned for Portugal's final warm up game against the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday and lasted 65 minutes, playing a starring role in the 5-1 win.

However, the striker's fresh injury concerns will have Portuguese supporters anxiously awaiting news ahead of their opening World Cup match.
