Bayern Munich news: Franck Ribery signs new contract with Bundesliga champions

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has signed extended his contract with the Bundesliga giants.
The Frenchman has made over 300 competitive appearances since joining the club from Marseille in 2007, winning six league titles, five cups, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Supercup, and his new deal keeps him at the Allianz Arena until 2018.
The 33-year-old has played 12 times for Carlo Ancelotti’s side this season, as they sit second in the table behind surprise leaders RB Leipzig.
"I'm very happy to play for FC Bayern for another year," Ribery told the German club’s official website.
"This great club and the city have become my home, both in terms of sport and in private.
“I'm looking forward to many more beautiful moments together with the FC Bayern fans, and I want to play my part in the team's success in the next one and a half years.”
Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge added: “FC Bayern's biggest triumphs in the last few years are closely linked with Franck Ribery. He's both a key player and a crowd-pleaser, so we're happy we've extended the contract with Franck by another year.”
