Ange Postecoglou is mocked with Pep Guardiola claims but Man City boss couldn’t achieve latest feat

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has made history after being named Premier League Manager of the Month for October.

The Australian becomes the first manager to scoop the award in each of the first three months of a Premier League season.

Spurs held onto top spot during October after wins over Luton, Fulham and Crystal Palace.

Postecoglou has quickly lifted the doom and gloom over the north London club and his success even saw Jamie Carragher draw parallels between the Spurs boss and Pep Guardiola.

The former Liverpool defender joked that he was just copying the Manchester City manager after a 2-1 win at Crystal Palace last month saw Spurs make their best-ever start to a Premier League campaign.

But the 56-year-old has achieved a rare feat by going one better than the Spaniard and collecting the award in each of his first three months in the Premier League.

The Premier League announced his latest triumph in a social media post alongside the caption: “You're making a habit of this, Ange Postecoglou!”

The Spurs boss will quickly have to put aside any celebrations as he prepares for Saturday lunchtime’s clash at Wolves.

Tottenham suffered their first defeat of the season at home to Chelsea on Monday and Postecoglou will hope his wounded side can make an immediate return to winning ways.

Spurs are blighted by injuries and suspensions with the Australian having no choice but to utilise the depth of his squad.
