Angry Scott McTominay accuses ‘disgraceful’ Georgia of ‘rolling round crying like babies’ in tense interview

Scott McTominay labelled Georgia’s players ‘disgraceful’ and accused them of acting like 'babies’ during Scotland’s 2-2 draw in Tbilisi.

The Manchester United midfielder continued his incredible run of goalscoring form in Euro 2024 qualifying with another strike, taking his tally to seven.

The 26-year-old levelled for Scotland after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia had fired the Georgians ahead after 15 minutes.

The Napoli winger looked likely to be the match winner when he restored Georgia’s lead but substitute Lawrence Shankland salvaged a point for Steve Clarke’s side deep into added time.

The result brought an end to Scotland’s three-game losing run but McTominay was far from happy with Georgia's antics throughout the game.

McTominay hit out at his opponents time-wasting attempts, labelling them a ‘disgrace’.

"They've got some very good footballers but tonight, the way they were acting, it was a disgrace in terms of provoking the referee and us as players as well," he said.

"It's not the way it should go but anyway that's football, we should just keep our heads but it's difficult.

"They should do something about players pretending to be injured when they're not. It's a difficult one to call but rolling around and crying like babies all afternoon is not football.

“For us, we just wanted to get on with our game whereas on the other side they were provoking the referee a lot."

Scotland, who have already qualified for next summer's tournament in Germany, face their final qualifier on Sunday against Norway at Hampden Park.
