Tottenham's mascots showed they've got what it takes to be the football stars of the future before Spurs' game against Newcastle.

Spurs were looking to avoid a fifth defeat in six games as they welcome the Magpies to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Ange Postecoglou's are struggling with the loss of key stars James Maddison and Micky van de Ven to injury, with a number of other players also sidelined.

But before the game, Spurs' mascots gave fans and even Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp something to smile about before they came out of the tunnel with the players.

TV cameras showed the young Spurs fans lining up, patiently waiting.

Soon though, one youngster started doing star jumps, really getting into the mode of being amongst some of the Premier League's finest players.

The mascot behind him then started doing press-ups with him before the original boy began doing some stretches as others joined in too.

The wholesome footage left fans up and down the country giggling and Redknapp couldn't help but crack a joke about Spurs' injury crisis as he watched them.

"They've got that many injuries they might need him!" he joked.

Tottenham got off to a flying start to the campaign, with Postecoglou setting the record for the best start to life as a Premier League manager.

Their loss to West Ham earlier this week saw them become the first side in Premier League history to have failed to win five consecutive games despite going 1-0 up in all of them.

However, Sunday's game saw them turn their fortunes around, as they beat Newcastle 4-1 to seal their first victory since the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at the end of October.
