Joe Cole tells talkSPORT: Manchester United have been unlucky, Jose Mourinho will turn it around

Joe Cole believes Jose Mourinho has the talent to turn around Manchester United’s fortunes, claiming the Old Trafford club HAVE been unlucky this season
The Red Devils sit sixth in the Premier League table after 14 games, 13 points off top spot and nine off the Champions League places.
Conceding late goals has become a feature of their play, and there have been few performances this season which could be described as acceptable for a club of United’s reputation.
Mourinho, appointed manager in the summer in a bid to return the club to the pinnacle of English football, has taken a lot of the blame for United’s struggles - although the Portuguese insists the Red Devils are ‘the unluckiest team in the Premier League’.
They have played a number of games in which the opposing goalkeeper has pulled off a string of stunning saves, meaning United have dropped points having done more than enough to win these matches on paper.
Whilst many believe United should not be blaming luck for their results, considering the huge money they have spent in the last few years, Cole agrees with his former manager that the Red Devils HAVE been unlucky.
The 35-year-old, who played under the Portuguese at Chelsea, told the Two Mikes on talkSPORT: “The ball hasn’t started rolling yet which is a new experienced for him [Mourinho].
“At every club he’s been at he’s hit the ground running.
“I think he’ll get time there and I think he’ll turn it around.
“With Jose in charge I’ve been keeping a keen eye on the team and the performances, and I’ve got to say I do generally think they’ve been a little bit unlucky.
“I’ve felt they should have won games they drew, and the league would look a little bit better for them.”
