Moises Caicedo breaks silence on transfer tug of war as he explains why he picked Chelsea over Liverpool

Moises Caicedo has opened up on a dramatic summer transfer window that saw him in the middle of a tug of war between Chelsea and Liverpool
The Ecuadorian midfielder eventually chose Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea having to break the British transfer record to land Caicedo for £115million after pressure from the Reds.
The saga dominated the final days of the window, with Brighton coming out the winners by pocketing a huge fee, while Liverpool instead landed midfielders Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo.
In the short-term at least, Caicedo’s wisdom has been called into question, with Liverpool top of the Premier League, and Chelsea massively struggling down in 12th place.
The 22-year-old has featured in 14 out of a possible 16 Premier League games, winning just five of them, while his debut against West Ham saw him concede a crucial penalty in a 3-1 defeat.
Caicedo, though, explained why he made the call, and that it was more to do with going where he was wanted.
"I was talking with Chelsea for a long time,” he told . “It was impossible to say no to Chelsea, because they were with me supporting me.
"In the summer I suffered a lot because it was complicated to leave Brighton. They were with me, and in the last moment Liverpool called me but it was [too] late because I wanted to play for Chelsea. It was tough to say no to Chelsea.
"Not for the fee, because at Chelsea you always have to win. Always, every game. If you don't win you feel the pressure, because the fans always want to see the team winning.
"Sometimes it's difficult [to win] because the other teams are tough as well. We know we are Chelsea, but we are a new team with young players. Personally, I've only been here four months, everything is new for me.
"I think it's about time. It's going to take time."
