Chelsea consider Aaron Ramsdale transfer swoop after Robert Sanchez injury blow

Chelsea are considering stepping up their interest in Aaron Ramsdale with Robert Sanchez facing a spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury, talkSPORT understands.
England goalkeeper Ramsdale is expected to leave Arsenal after losing his place to David Raya, but it is not guaranteed the Gunners will let him go in January.
Newcastle are also monitoring Ramsdale's situation, however the Magpies do not have the funds to do a permanent transfer to present.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino is pushing the Chelsea board to sign players with Premier League experience after a poor first half of the season.
Ramsdale has taken a back seat this season following the arrival of David Raya in the summer.
The England international has not been short of suitors and Chelsea appear ready to launch an offensive.
Despite reduced game time this season, a potential exit could pose a risk to Arteta who would have to call on 21-year-old third-choice goalkeeper Karl Hein.
Therefore, Arsenal could turn down any advances at least until they find a ready made replacement to fill Ramsdale’s capable boots.
But Chelsea have more pressing concerns with the news that Sanchez is facing a spell in the treatment room after undergoing assessments on his knee.
The Spaniard suffered the injury during last weekend's 2-0 defeat at Everton and was withdrawn six-minutes from time.
Sanchez took over the No 1 shirt after his summer arrival from Brighton. He replaced Kepa Arrizabalaga who joined La Liga giants Real Madrid on a season-long loan.
Pochettino looks set to put his faith in summer signing Djordje Petrovic who featured in the closing stages of the defeat at Goodison Park.
The 24-year-old Serbian shot-stopper signed for Chelsea from MLS outfit New England Revolution and is in line to make his first league start in Saturday’s clash with Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge.
