Is Jamie Vardy fit to face Wayne Rooney’s Birmingham? Duo set for first possible meeting since ‘Wagatha Christie’ trial

Leicester face Birmingham this evening in the Championship, live on talkSPORT 2, meaning it's a first possible meeting between Wayne Rooney and Jamie Vardy since 'Wagatha Christie'.
The players' wives, Coleen and Rebekah, were infamously embroiled in a long-running battle that ended in a libel case last year.
And ahead of this clash, Jamie has some fitness concerns that could stop any potential reunion with Rooney.
The former Manchester United forward is Birmingham's manager and will definitely be in attendance, but Vardy's inclusion is a little bit less certain.
Is Vardy fit to face Rooney?
Unfortunately, there is bad news for those wanting to tune in to see Vardy and Rooney meet because the Leicester icon is injured.
The former England striker has enjoyed a decent season in the Championship for the high-flying Foxes.

He's bagged six goals but hasn't featured in the last two due to an ongoing injury.
Foxes boss Enzo Maresca confirmed that Vardy would play no part against Birmingham.
Speaking ahead of the game, he said: “Jamie’s [injury] was in training.
"Unfortunately, for Monday, it’s impossible. I knew a little bit the story [about the Wagatha Christie legal case] But absolutely not, Jamie is injured already for many days.”

Rooney was also asked about the Wagatha Christie situation in the build-up, but he did everything he could to put distance between himself and Vardy.
He said: "It's great that there is a global interest in Birmingham City playing Leicester City. [It is] a great platform for our players to show how good they are.
"But it's important that it doesn't all get dragged into a sideshow. Anything else should be about football. My job is just about Birmingham trying to win the game.
"I played with him for England, the same as I played with many players for England.
"He is not someone who I have ever had a relationship with, outside of being away on a training camp or being in games with him. I respect Jamie Vardy a lot, I think he is a fantastic player – he still has a lot to offer Leicester."
The Wagatha Christie case started in 2019 when Coleen accused Rebekah of leaking her private Instagram stories to The Sun.
In 2020, Rebekah sued her for libel, but in July 2022, the court ruled in favour of Coleen and ordered Vardy's wife to pay the majority of Coleen's legal fees, leading to her shelling out around £3million.
But any reunion in football between Jamie and Wayne is going to have to wait.
