West Ham 2-0 Manchester United LIVE REACTION: Bowen and Kudus send Irons sixth as visitors fall to another defeat

West Ham sealed a hard-fought 2-0 win over Manchester United at the London Stadium to move up to sixth in the Premier League.

In truth, it was a game that lacked quality until the 72nd minute when Lucas Paqueta found Jarrod Bowen with a sublime pass, and he finished things off.

Mohammed Kudus then exploited Kobbie Mainoo's mistake to to double the lead, and the Irons held on.

It was a poor display from Man United, who made it their fourth league game without a goal.

The first time that's happened since 1992.

  • West Ham 2-0 Man United - REACTION

Right, that's it from us this afternoon as West Ham claim a comfortable win over a desperate Man United side.

It was a really poor game until Lucas Paqueta set up Jarrod Bowen with a sublime pass to open the scoring.

Mohammed Kudus then doubled the lead to seal the win.

We hope you enjoyed the coverage and will see you all again soon.

But if you want to know more, read our match report.

  • Ten Hag identifies what went wrong

While David Moyes is delighted, Erik ten Hag is much less so.

He's been speaking to TNT Sports about another shocking defeat for Man United.

He said: "I think we had a solid performance. We were controlling the game. We didn't give chances away.

"But we had to score, and we didn't."

"We gave them nothing until the 72nd minute when we switched off."

  • Moyes delighted with win

It might not have been a great performance, but David Moyes will very happily take three points.

Speaking to TNT Sports, he said: "It was a great win.

"It took us a while to get into the game, but we got much better.

"We put [Lucas] Paqueta in as a number nine, and I thought he held up the ball well.

"They [front three] are very talented players and we can move them around, which you can get it wrong, but we got it right."

  • Damning statistics

  • Shaw gutted

Man United's Luke Shaw has been speaking to TNT Sports about that display against West Ham.

    He said: "Not good enough.

"We keep losing games and points and making it very hard for ourselves.

"That second half, not good enough. First half, we controlled the game and had chances, so we suffered in the second half."

"We were not the same in the second half, and that's why we've lost again."

  • West Ham 2-0 Man United - REACTION

    • Manchester United have failed to score in four successive games in all competitions for the first time since November 1992, while it’s just the third time they’ve failed to score in three successive Premier League away games after April 2005 and August 2022.
    • West Ham have recorded successive Premier League wins over Manchester United for just the second time, following a run of three wins between December 2006 and December 2007.
    • For the first time since September 2012 (run of four), West Ham have won at least three home games in all competitions without conceding.
  • Bowen in great company

Jarrod Bowen is well in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot race.

The forward is just three goals behind Erling Haaland.

  • Perfect Paqueta

Lucas Paqueta is a very unique footballer.

He's tall and strong, but possesses incredible technique and vision.

His first pass for Jarrod Bowen's goal was fantastic, but he won't get the assist as it rebounded off Andre Onana before the striker tucked it home!

However, he will have the assist for the second goal.

He was the standout player by a miler.

  • Man United woe

It was another afternoon to forget for Man United as they crashed to a 13th defeat in all competitions before Christmas.

That is the first time that's happened since 1930.

Meanwhile, it was a fourth league game in a row without a goal for the Red Devils.

That is the first time that's happened since 1992.

And Stuart Pearce believes that Man United are weak mentally.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: "For me there's a softness in the ranks and a lack of leadership at Manchester United. They were out-fought, out-beaten, and you could just see too many of their players just packed it in on the pitch."

  • Hammers into sixth

There you go West Ham fans, merry Christmas!

You are currently sixth, although Newcastle could change that when they face Luton later today.

  • Kudus reflects on win

What a signing Mohammed Kudus looks to be.

The forward got yet another goal here and looks to have settled into the Premier League very well.

And he's been speaking to TNT Sports about the win and a goal.

He said: "It's my job to put the ball in the back of the net and help us get three points.

"I am really happy for the fans because this is the last game before Christmas, so this is the perfect gift for them.

"I want to wish them a happy Christmas."

  • West Ham 2-0 Man United - FULL TIME
