Jurgen Klopp's men were much better than they were in the 0-0 draw with Manchester United and could have won.

But the punishing schedule won't be ending any time soon, with the Reds competing on multiple fronts.

Meanwhile, Vincent Kompany's Burnley have been in the Premier League drop zone for the majority of the season but sealed a massive 2-0 win over Fulham to close the gap to safety.

Burnley vs Liverpool: Klopp loves Boxing Day

Since Klopp arrived in England to take the Liverpool job, he's thrived on Boxing Day.

The German has managed five Premier League games on the day after Christmas, and he boasts a 100 per cent record.

This will be the sixth time Liverpool have played on Boxing Day since the former Borussia Dortmund boss moved to Merseyside, and he will look to continue this great run.

In these games, the Reds have scored 17 goals and conceded just once.

Plus, this match is an evening kick-off, so Klopp should be confident going into this one, as he avoids the dreaded 12:30pm match.

Andy Townsend reveals he’s a big fan of Darwin Nunez despite his poor goal return for Liverpool

Burnley vs Liverpool: What has been said?

Andy Townsend is a big fan of Darwin Nunez, even if the Liverpool striker perhaps doesn't score enough goals.

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: "I like him. I'm happy to go out there and say it.

"And I know there will be people saying, 'Hold on, look at his numbers'.

"Your numbers are everything as a striker, but you know what? Give me him over some of the other lot - like Anthony Martial - who stands around doing nothing.

"Darwin Nunez is permanently on the move, he's running 100mph everywhere."
