Bayern Munich and Eric Dier reach verbal agreement as Tottenham await contact

Bayern Munich have reached a verbal agreement with Eric Dier about a potential transfer in January, talkSPORT understands.
The 29-year-old is out of contract in June and free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs ahead of a summer transfer.
Dier has fallen down the pecking order under boss Ange Postecoglou having made just four Premier League appearances this season.
That’s despite Tottenham’s defensive injury woes following suspension and injuries to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.
Spurs’ interest in Genoa's Radu Dragusin appears to be the final straw for the Tottenham defender who has already been used sparingly this season.
Dier is happy to let his contract run down and leave the north London club for free after rejecting a switch to Bournemouth in the summer, with a return to Sporting Lisbon mooted as a possible option.
However, his Spurs departure could come in the current transfer window should they and Bayern come to an agreement for the player.
talkSPORT also understands that England captain Harry Kane, who played alongside Dier at Spurs, has been a major driving force in the bid to bring the 29-year-old to Bavaria.
Spurs are understood to be waiting for an official approach from the Bundesliga champions.
When asked about Dier's future on Thursday, Postecoglou said: “I think Eric is contracted to this football club, and he’s as much in control of his destiny as anyone else.”
Dier is into his ninth season at Tottenham having made 361 appearances for the club.
He began his career at Portuguese giants Sporting before making a switch to Tottenham in 2014 in a £4million deal.
Dier has earned 49 caps for England, scoring three times but has not featured for the Three Lions since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
