New footage shows Joe Gomez pulling Ben Chilwell away from Conor Bradley confrontation in Liverpool vs Chelsea final

New footage has emerged showing Joe Gomez grabbing Ben Chilwell after the Chelsea defender clashed with Conor Bradley during Sunday’s Carabao Cup final.
Liverpool duo Gomez and Bradley played key roles in the Reds’ 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the Wembley showpiece which was settled by Virgil van Dijk’s winner late in extra-time.
On an afternoon of contentious moments, a melee took place towards the end of the first-half involving Bradley and Chilwell after the Liverpool youngster brought the full-back to the ground with a challenge.
A frustrated Chilwell retaliated by pushing Bradley, however fan footage that emerged 24 hours after the match, shows Gomez separating an angry Chilwell from his Liverpool teammate.
Gomez is seen grabbing the Chelsea star’s shirt whilst appearing to exchange words with him.
Chilwell seemingly had a few words of his own for Gomez as the players clashed before Levi Colwill stepped in as peacemaker.
The pair are international teammates with England and the incident could spark a frosty welcome if selected for next month’s friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.
The video also shows a squabble between Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson and Liverpool duo Cody Gakpo and Alexis Mac Allister before Reds defender Ibrahima Konate intervened to calm tensions.
Despite Liverpool’s victory, Bradley continued the war of words by posting a dig at Chilwell on an Instagram post.
The 20-year-old posted a picture of him during the fracas with Chilwell before adding the caption: “Special club.”
After the match, Bradley expressed his joy at landing a first senior trophy with the club he supported as a boy.
“I don’t think I can actually put it into words," he told Sky Sports. "It’s an incredible feeling and obviously I’ve supported this club since I was about five years old so to now win a trophy with them at Wembley, it’s special and I’m just buzzing.
“Thankfully I wasn’t on at the end because I don’t know if I could have kept my composure.
"The boys did brilliant and especially the young ones that came on, they showed real heart and they always wanted the ball and they always wanted to make something happen. So, full credit to the boys.”
