Liverpool stars Alexis MacAllister and Mohamed Salah ‘drive Virgil van Dijk crazy’ with Lionel Messi-inspired phrase

Alexis Mac Allister says he and Mohamed Salah cheekily annoy Virgil van Dijk with a Lionel Messi-inspired tease at Liverpool.
During the 2022 World Cup, Netherlands captain Van Dijk helped guide his country to a quarter-final clash against Argentina.
Tensions were high as a competition record of 18 yellow cards and a red card were issued, with Messi calling Dutchman Wout Weghorst a 'fool' after the match.
After a 2-2 draw, Argentina won 4-3 on penalties so it's a match that Van Dijk will certainly not be looking to rewatch in a hurry.
However, his Argentine teammate at Liverpool Mac Allister loves to remind him of it with the help of their star man Salah.
"With Salah we are telling Van Dijk all day, 'Go ahead, stupid' ['Anda pa'lla, bobo']," Mac Allister told .
"We drive him crazy. We also do it with each other with Mo when something happens."
The clip of Messi shouting at Weghorst, which happened during his post-match interview, quickly went viral on social media.
However, the eventual World Cup winner revealed his regret with what he said: “I don't like this picture. I don't like what I did. There was a lot of tension and it came out naturally."
Despite this, it's clear that his international co-star Mac Allister loves it and is keen to use it against Van Dijk for some fun.
He may not have jeered him with it recently though as the Liverpool captain has shone once again for Jurgen Klopp's side.
Van Dijk scored their extra-time winner against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final last weekend to win his eighth trophy at the club.
The 32-year-old quickly responded to his doubters of the victory by emphatically saying: "They thought I was finished."
Just three days later, he took the armband once again and kept a clean sheet in Liverpool's FA Cup fifth round win over Southampton.
