Arsenal fans say Mikel Arteta is ‘breeding monsters’ after David Raya’s assessment of penalty shootout

Arsenal fans continue to love Mikel Arteta's impact after David Raya's bullish response to his penalty shootout heroics.
The Gunners goalkeeper saved two spot-kicks against Porto to send his side to their first Champions League quarter-final since 2010.
Raya first dived to his left and tipped Wendell's effort onto the post before beating away Galeno's shot which sealed Arsenal's win.
Speaking to TNT Sports after his excellent performance in between the sticks, he said: "I should have saved three."
And it's an admission that Arsenal fans on social media have loved as they look forward to the last eight of the Champions League.
Taking to X after their goalkeeper's confident assessment, one said: "Arteta is breeding monsters."
"That is for sure...they are destroying everyone in their way," a second replied.
A third said: "Immense from Raya. Got his hands on three pens and saved two which were not taken bad either."
"Arteta's men's mentality," a fourth added with a mind blown emoji.
Despite believing he could have done even better, Raya added: "I'm over the moon to save two penalties in the Champions League to get through to the quarter-finals."
Having lost the first leg 1-0, Arsenal needed to produce a big performance at home in the second leg to advance.
Leandro Trossard score shortly before half time to ensure they and Porto were level on aggregate.
The Portuguese visitors proved to be frustrating opposition for Arsenal, who lacked quality in the final third for much of the night.
Extra-time soon arrived and neither side were able to find a goal, with penalties then required to decide the tie.
Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice all scored their penalties for Arsenal, with Raya saving twice.
Gunners fans were sent into jubilation when he denied Galeno and they can now look forward to their first quarter-final in 14 years, where a mouth-watering tie against Premier League rivals Manchester City could await.
