If you had to pick just one footballer born in every year, who would be named the greatest of that age?

That is the question talkSPORT have answered with our gallery above, where we pick the best player of every age between 16- and 40-years-old.

Taking in some current starlets all the way through to legends of the modern game, each player had to be still active and signed with a club to be considered for the list.

And despite stars such as Eden Hazard, Thomas Muller and Toni Kroos missing out, we finally decided as to who comes out on top for every age.
