Liverpool transfer report: Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Inter Milan’s Gabriel Barbosa top Jurgen Klopp’s January wish list

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Inter Milan forward Gabriel Barbosa his top two January targets, according to reports in Germany.

The Anfield boss been given £40million to improve his squad this transfer window and has been linked with numerous moves to boost his Premier League title bid.

Having seemingly missed out on Borussia Dortmund flyer Christian Pulisic and a bid for Bayer Leverkusen's Julian Brand likely to wait until the summer, Klopp has turned his attention to Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to Bild.

The England international has been unable to nail down a regular first-team spot at Arsenal - alerting clubs to his current situation at the Emirates Stadium.

Links between Liverpool and the 23-year-old first surfaced in December, but at the time Klopp branded those reports as ‘nonsense’.

Yet, reports in his native Germany are still claiming that the Reds boss is hoping to tempt the youngster to move to the north-west.

The German newspaper also claims Brazilian forward Barbosa is a realistic target, with the 20-year-old unsettled at Inter Milan, although he is only likely to join the Merseyside club on loan.
