Eddie Howe insists Newcastle don’t want to sell Alexander Isak despite potential Arsenal interest

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has revealed star striker Alexander Isak is going nowhere despite Arsenal interest.
The 24-year-old joined the Magpies in a club-record £63million deal back in 2022.
He recently netted two penalties as his side secured a 4-3 victory over West Ham on Saturday, taking his goal tally to 18 for the campaign in all competitions.
The Sweden international has been mentioned as a potential target for Arsenal, and back in January, Newcastle chief executive Darren Eales claimed 'every player has a price'.
Newcastle, though, who are eager not to break profit and sustainability rules, will not cash in on Isak, according to Howe.
"He's an outstanding talent and no one connected with Newcastle would want to lose him," said the Magpies boss.
"He was excellent on Saturday. He didn't score in open play but his two penalties were outstanding and his general play was very good. His link play, his athleticism, he looked in a really good place."
Isak previously claimed that "if things show up, things can happen" during the international break, prompting rumours that he could leave the club.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will come calling this season and test Newcastle's resolve, but Isak will no doubt be solely focused on ending the season on a high.
Newcastle are currently eighth in the Premier League with 43 points and looking to secure European football come the end of the season.
Howe's side take on relegation-threatened Everton in their next clash at St James' Park on Tuesday night.
