Arsenal looking to raid Newcastle for star striker Alexander Isak amid rumours of £100million offer

Arsenal have been linked with a stunning £100million bid for Alexander Isak - and there's some truth in the rumours.
The Newcastle striker is claimed to be at the centre of a transfer battle between the Gunners and north London rivals Tottenham this summer, as per .
talkSPORT's Transfer Notebook previously brought you the news that the Magpies face being forced to cash in one of their best players to raise funds for summer signings to avoid breaching Financial Fair Play rules.
Now, talkSPORT's Football Correspondent Alex Crook has confirmed there could be serious substance in the Magpies receiving a £100m bid from Arsenal for Isak this summer.
"I think there's a little bit more to it than [it being a rumour]," he said.
"Under the current profit and sustainability rules, in terms of Isak, it would take a big offer because they paid £60million for him.
"The whole point of PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) under its current guise is you have to be seen to make a profit on your transfers.
"So, there's no point in selling him for £80million, that will only be a £20million profit on the balance sheet.
"I think if someone is going to slap a £100million offer on the table, then Newcastle would have a decision to make. I do think there is some substance to the Arsenal rumours."
Newcastle are likely to be even more keen to cash in on the fan favourite if they finish outside the European spots, with them currently sitting in eight, five points off the top six.
Speaking about the possibility of Isak leaving recently, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said: "He’s an outstanding talent and no one connected with Newcastle would want to lose him."
Isak also admitted over the international break that 'if things show up, things can happen'.
The 24-year-old has scored 18 goals and recorded one assist in what's been a stop-start season for the Sweden international, who has been struggling with a groin injury.
He was in fine form in Saturday's dramatic 4-3 win over West Ham - scoring two penalties while laying on the assist for Harvey Barnes' first strike.
Since signing in 2022 from Real Sociedad, Isak has made 58 appearances for the club, banging in 28 goals in all competitions.
Meanwhile, Newcastle are being linked with Gunners goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale - which could see Nick Pope sold.
