Transfer news: Top 20 football clubs in the world revealed, based on record signing

The world transfer record was broken in the summer of 2016 when Manchester United signed Paul Pogba from Juventus for a £89.3 million fee.

The French midfielder returned to Old Trafford after four years with Juventus, who themselves broke their own club transfer record last summer by bringing in striker Gonzalo Higuain from Serie A rivals Napoli.
