Manchester City's dominance in English football continues as they have won a record-breaking fourth consecutive Premier League title.

City's latest success comes as they beat West Ham 3-1 on the final day to see Pep Guardiola's men pip Arsenal to the crown by just two points.

Phil Foden's stunning effort put City in the ascendancy just over a minute after kick-off before the England star struck a cross from the left home on 18 minutes.

A brilliant overhead kick by Mohammed Kudus late in the first half gave West Ham, and Arsenal, some hope but City's two-goal lead was restored by Rodri's low effort from the edge of the box as City's history-making title was sealed.

Arsenal did what they had to do as they beat Everton 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium but it wasn't enough as they needed City to draw or lose to West Ham.

"For Arsenal to push us to another level - before it was Liverpool and the last two seasons it's been Arsenal. This one has been incredible. We get the message, we know they will be there for many years," Guardiola told Sky Sports.

"Young manager with big talent - they sent us a message that you have to be careful for the next few years.

"When I moved here if someone had said I would win six leagues in seven seasons I would say you're insane - no way.

"All these players for Manchester United and Liverpool and Chelsea, all these teams. Now is our period. We are part of that."

Victory for City has also eclipsed that of their rivals Manchester United, with the blue half of the city now the more dominant force in country.

Legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson guided United to three consecutive Premier League titles on two occasions during his tenure.

But now City have become the first club to ever win four in a row since the Premier League era began in 1992, a remarkable achievement.

It's also the club's eighth Premier League crown, with Pep Guardiola in charge for six of those since he joined from Bayern Munich in 2016.

Only Antonio Conte and Jurgen Klopp at Chelsea and Liverpool respectively have beaten the Spaniard to the title over eight years.

Whilst Guardiola sits seven triumphs behind Ferguson's 13, he is still the second most successful Premier League manager ever.

City also remain chasing their rivals' overall total and with the power shifting from red to blue in Manchester, this could well be beaten.

This season's success has by no means been straightforward for the champions amid sustained pressure from Arsenal and Liverpool.

Guardiola's side won their opening six league games before falling to back-to-back defeats away at Wolves and the Gunners.

Just their third loss of the campaign came at Aston Villa in December and since then, they have been unbeaten across 23 matches, winning 19 of those.

They ensured they sat top of the table on the final day with a 2-0 win away at Tottenham on Tuesday night.

City have ended the season as champions once again, making history in the process.

Further success could still come their way in the FA Cup final on Saturday against United as City continue to flourish under Guardiola.
