Arsenal romped into the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 5-0 win over Southampton on Saturday evening.

Both teams named much-changed line-ups, but the Gunners' back-up players made light work of their South Coast counterparts, Danny Welbeck scoring twice and Theo Walcott grabbing a hat-trick.

But despite the goalscoring feats of the England pair, it was a different player who caught the eye for the North Londoners.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles was deployed in a holding midfield role, and he dominated the middle of the park as the ball-winning destroyer who allows his attacking teammates to show off their flair with no need to fulfil defensive duties.

He was imperious in the tackle and remarkably composed when in possession of the ball, and it was a performance which had many Arsenal fans heaping praise upon the youngster.
